<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a print result within a time requested by a user by deteriorating image quality such as resolution according to priority designated by the user when the print result cannot be outputted within the time requested by the user. <P>SOLUTION: In this print system constituted of a host computer and a printing device such as a printer, print data and a requested output completion time and the classification and priority of the quality of an image which may be deteriorated when the print-out is impossible within the requested time are transmitted form the host computer, and the printer which has received this predicts the output completion time from the print data, and when the predicted time does not satisfy the requested time of the user, deteriorates the quality of the image by a method designated by the user in order to improve the speed.
