A method for receiving a terrestrial DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) signal from a gap filler by using an authentication key is provided to simply design the structure of a receiver, thereby reducing the size of the receiver. A DMB terminal receives a terrestrial DMB signal through a DMB antenna according to the user's request(S710). Thereafter, a microprocessor confirms TII(Transmitter Identification Information) included in a synchronization channel among transmission frames of the terrestrial DMB signal(S720). The microprocessor discriminates whether the TII of the received DMB signal is TII allocated at a transmitter or TII allocated at a repeater(S730). When the TII of the received DMB signal is TII allocated at the repeater, the DMB terminal confirms an effective period of an authentication key stored in a memory card(S740). When the stored authentication key is an effective authentication key(S750), the DMB broadcasting is received and displayed through the repeater(S760).
