A body cover of a vacuum cleaner is provided to restrict foreign matters from being infiltrated into an electric component part by forming an electric component protection rib from a lower part of a cable penetration hole, and to prevent accidents by restricting electric parts from being broken. A fan motor is embedded in a body, and an electric component part(230) is formed in a body cover of a vacuum cleaner. The body cover includes a front cover(210) having a lamp installation part in which a lamp assembly is mounted to light the front of the body, and a rear cover engaged with the front cover to form a rear part of the body. An electric component protection rib(288) is formed in a rear part of the front cover to regulate inflow of foreign matters into the electric component part. The electric component part is formed in a lower part of the body, and the electric component protection rib is formed in an upper part of the electric component part. A cable penetration hole(284) is formed in the lamp installation part so as to penetrate a lamp cable for applying power to the lamp assembly into the electric component part.
