Cylindrical rollers (8) are held in individual pockets (7) of a retainer (2) that is axially positioned by guiding of the rollers, and a chamfer (11) is formed on a part of an end surface in the axial direction of a cylindrical roller (8), the part being on the outer periphery side of the cylindrical roller. The dimension in the radial direction of the chamfer (11) is set such that a central flat surface (9) on the radially inside of the chamfer (11) is not exposed from the outer surface of an outer periphery side flat plate section (14). Further, the difference between the minimum value ?_B of the amount of the projection of the cylindrical roller (8) from the outer surface of the outer periphery side flat plate section (14) and the dimension W₁₁ in the radial direction of the chamfer (11) is set smaller than the plate thickness T₂ of the retainer (2). By this construction, the speed at which the central flat surface (9) and an outer periphery side peripheral edge (22) of a pocket (7) in the retainer (2) are in friction contact with each other is suppressed, and thereby abrasion of the outer periphery side peripheral edge (22) is controlled.
