Evaluation of initial physical characteristics of new electricity supply pole or mast

The method is designed to determine the characteristics of the nominal bending/fracturing resistance of a pole(1) in its new state in a determined zone where the resistance value for the pole is significant, and to measure the relative pole parameters which are linked to the poles bending/fracturing resistance. The measured values are processed by a method which is designed to deduce the quantitative data or physical magnitudes of the representative characteristic of the estimated value of the nominal resistance of the new pole. The pole is of tubular or profiled metallic construction and the test equipment is placed in position when the pole is erected so as to hold it stable. The parameters taken into account are: pole diameter or dimensions characterising the transversal section of the pole, the wall thickness of the pole, and the hardness of the material which the pole is made from.
