A lead clip 10 for an angling rig including a hinged wall 32 with an integral projection or peg 34 at the swivel retaining section, and ridges 44, 20 upon the surface of a retaining arm 42 and a first section 18 of the lead clip. The lead clip comprises an elongate tubular body 12 with a through hole 14 which runs from the "hook end to the "line end" and a weight retaining arm 42. A swivel 50, comprising first and second eyes 52a, 52b, is accommodated within a second region 28 of the lead clip. An aperture 30 is formed within the wall of the second portion 28 of the lead clip and a curved wall portion 32 is connected to lead clip wall by a hinge 33 such that the curved wall portion 32 can be moved to a closed position to close off the aperture 30. A securing peg 34 integral with the inner surface of the hinged wall portion 32 passes through the first eye 52a of the swivel 50, when the hinged wall portion 32 is closed, to secure the swivel within the body. Ridges 20a 20b, 20c, 20d, 20e are formed along the on the exterior of the first portion 18 of the lead clip. Ridges 44a, 44b, 44c are also formed partway along the weight retaining arm. The ridges provide resistance against the removal of a sleeve. |
