A folding chair 10 having a collapsed condition and an erect condition, comprising rear frame members 22 with a panel 21 between them to provide a back rest, a pair of shelter uprights which extend upwardly of the rear frame in the chair's erect condition, means to hold the uprights in their upwardly extended condition, and a canopy frame 26 supporting a canopy panel 36 and mounted by pivots 30 to the uprights for movement between a covering condition, in which the canopy panel extends forwardly to cover at least the head of a user, and a collapsed condition in which the canopy frame extends downwardly and rearwardly of the uprights to lie adjacent or alongside the said rear frame members. The uprights may fit telescopically into the frame. Also disclosed in a folding chair where the canopy panel 36 may be expanded to form a tent (see figure 4). |
