An information processing unit is provided with a path for accessing to a memory module from a first memory controller and a path for accessing to a memory module from a second memory controller. For example, if the first memory controller has a high-speed accessibility to the memory module provided on the processing unit, and the second memory controller gains access to the expandable memory module connected with the processing unit, the memory module requiring high-speed access is accessible from the first memory controller, while the memory module requiring increased memory capacity is accessible from the second memory controller. As a result, reduced access time to the memory module and increased memory capacity can be achieved.
