<p>In a vehicle having side covers (8) on side faces under the floor of a vehicle body (1), a totally enclosed main motor (5) is installed outside a carriage frame. The main motor (5) has an outside-air path for sucking outside air through a suction opening and allowing it to flow to a discharge opening from which the air is discharged. Heat generated in the main motor is released to the outside by using the outside-air path. One end of an air flow duct (9) is connected to the suction opening, and the other end is opened at a side cover (8) to the outside of the main motor. Since the outside air can be supplied from the outside of the vehicle, cooling efficiency of the main motor is enhanced. Also, since the main motor (5) is installed outside the carriage frame, the capacity of the main motor (5) can be increased.</p> |
