PROCESS FOR THE METHANOL PRODUCTION

A process for the methanol production relates to the technology of production thereof by incomplete oxidation of hydrocarbon gas with oxygen, or air oxygen at elevated temperature and pressure under 10.0 MPa. Methanol is separated from exhaust gases in finally cooled postreaction mixture, and prior to supply for fractionation the prepared crude methanol is subjected to more than single-stage degasation and the neutralization thereof with solution of sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate is carried out at pressure close to atmospheric. Exhaust gas flow is restricted up to pressure of gas-distributing systems and thereafter is used as refrigerant agent for final cooling of postreaction mixture prior to the separation. The process enables to decrease specific consumption of hydrocarbon- and oxygen-containg gases, decrease power consumption and methanol losses.
