The document has a body (10) including main surfaces (11, 12), where one of the surfaces form a printing surface on which bottom rasters (14A, 14B) and personalized information (24A, 24B) e.g. photo, are printed. The surface is covered with reinforced protecting films (31A, 31B). Protection overlays (25A, 25B) i.e. topcoats, are placed on the printing surface by a multipanel, multicolor inking ribbon e.g. YMCKO-KO type inking ribbon. The overlays fix the protecting films on an ink that is placed on the printing surface, and partially cover the printing surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for printing an identification document. |
