The present invention relates to a vertical centrifugal pump of a new structure, capable of preventing impact caused when foreign substances sucked to a suction unit (11) are cut, from being directly transferred to an impeller (20) or a driving motor (50). According to the present invention, the vertical centrifugal pump includes: a rotation container body (90) rotating by being engaged with a driving shaft (40) and connected to a fixing strainer (70) to be rotated by a rotation shaft (92) installed on the lower side, wherein the rotation container body (90) is formed in a cylinder shape with an open upper surface; and multiple cutting members (100) extended to the outside on the circumference of the rotation container body (90). The driving shaft (40) is extended to the lower side of the inside of the rotation container body (90). A driving blade (41) rotating with the driving shaft (40) is installed on the circumference unit of a lower end of the driving shaft (40), and a driven blade (94) corresponding to the driving blade (41) is installed on the inner circumference of the rotation container body (90). The rotation container body (90) and the cutting member (100) rotate by the flow of waste water, generated as the driving blade (41) rotates by the driving shaft (40). So, the foreign substances sucked through the suction hole (61, 71) can be cut. In other words, the cutting member (100) cutting the foreign substances is not physically connected to the impeller (20) and the driving motor (50). Therefore, the vertical centrifugal pump can prevent the impact caused when the cutting member (100) cuts the foreign substances from being transferred to the impeller (20) or the driving motor (50). |
