There is disclosed an injection mold (102) for molding a flip-top closure cap (104) having a body portion (106) and a flip-top portion (108) attached to the body portion (106) via a live hinge (110). The injection mold (102) comprises: a first mold portion (112) for defining a first portion of the flip-top closure cap (104); a second mold portion (114) for defining a second portion of the flip-top closure cap (104); the first mold portion (112) including a pivotable mold portion (134) configured to define a portion of the first portion of the flip-top closure cap (104), the pivotable mold portion (134) is configured to be rotatable about a first centerline (190), which is spatially offset from a hinge centerline (192) of the live hinge (110), the rotation of the pivotable mold portion (134) is for affecting, during a de-molding portion of a molding cycle of operation of the injection mold (102): a) urging the flip-top closure cap (104) towards the body portion (106), and (b) de-molding the flip-top portion (108) from at least a portion of the first mold portion (112). |
