PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more accurately implement focus detection by enabling a setting of a proper focus detection range in accordance with a state of a subject in focus detection based on a phase difference detection method.SOLUTION: Setting means is configured to: set a contrast AF frame at a position corresponding to a phase difference AF frame; and set at least one contrast AF frame in the vicinity of the position. Changing means is configured to: when reliability of an image signal in the phase difference AF frame is lower than a prescribed level, change a position or size of the phase difference AF frame in accordance with respective focus states of the contrast AF frame set according to the phase difference AF frame; and get back the changed position or size of the phase difference AF frame to a state before changed in accordance with the focus state of the contrast AF frame corresponding to the phase difference AF frame.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11 |
