PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PHS(personal handyphone system) terminal equipment and a communication system which consume the small electric power. SOLUTION: A business base station transmits no control signal as long as it has no communication with a PHS terminal equipment. The PHS terminal equipment starts an RF unit 11 every 8 seconds and decides the presence or absence of radio waves. Then no power is supplied to a modem part 13 since the absence of radio waves is decided. When the business base station has communication with the PHS terminal equipment, the base station sends a control signal and the unit 11 confirms the presence of radio waves. Then the power is supplied to the part 13, a waveform generation time division processing part 15, a voice encoding part 17, a CPU 23, etc. |
