[Also in Division H2] A strain relief bushing comprises an annulus formed from an elastomeric tube 1 of diamond cross-section having an open longitudinally extending seam 11 along one corner, surfaces 3 and 4 internal of the annulus and equipped with ridges 5 to grip a conductor (21) and surfaces 6 and 7 joined together at groove 10 for cooperation with the edge of the hole (22) in a panel (20). A section of tube 1 is cut off for the annulus such that the length of groove 10 corresponds to the circumference of hole (22) while the length of surfaces 3 and 4 corresponds to the circumference of the conductor (21). The device is then bent around the wire such that the groove 10 is perpendicular to the wire and is pushed into hole (22) in panel (20). |
