A sheet, for example a blank to form a gramophone record sleeve with a spine, is folded up by a series of pairs of rollers 13a . . . 18a, 13l . . . 18b, each pair of which consists of a male roller 13a and a female roller 13b, the curvature of the female rollers successively increasing. In the embodiment described a blank for a gramophone record sleeve is conveyed along a guide (11) and part 12a is bent up at right angles to the remainder by a rigid plough 22 and a length of flexible material 23 disposed to form a folding plough. The female rollers change gradually from a plane cylindrical profile (13b), (Fig. 2, not shown) to a channel section (18b).
