The fibrous tube is fed through a chromimum-nickel plug and ring apparatus between the circular plug and the ring which fit together leaving only a narrow gap between them. There are two borings through the centre of the plug in the direction of its axis but bending outwards and terminating opposite the inner wall of the ring which also has borings continuing from where those of the plug terminated. Through these borings the tube to be treated can be evacuated and impregnated with the coating material.
