[Also in Division F2] The connections between the components of a pneumatic circuit are made through a device which comprises a plurality of inlet conduits 2, a plurality of outlet conduits 3 crossing the inlet conduits, a transfer connection between each inlet and outlet conduit, and a manually operable valve 7 in each transfer connection. Thus when an inlet conduit 2 becomes pressurized by fluid or electric operation of its inlet valve 4, those outlet conduits in communication with that particular inlet conduit through an open transfer valve, become pressurized. This pressurization of particular outlet conduits may cause direct operation of e.g. actuators connected thereto or of relay valves 5 indirectly controlling the actuators. Alternatively flow through a transfer conduit may be arranged to cross its outlet conduit and be vented to atmosphere. This venting is used to destroy a low-pressure signal which exists in the outlet conduit whereby a relay valve responsive to the signal is caused to change its position. An exemplary circuit comprising a pair of actuators operable in sequence is described, Fig.5 (not shown). |
