Benzenesulphonyl semicarbazides contg. heterocyclic acylamino groups attached to the benzene ring pref. in the para position, of general formula I possess oral anti-diabetic (blood sugar lowering) activity to a much greater degree than Tolbutamide. R'R"-isoxazolyl (or isothiazolyl or pyrazolyl) -(CH2)n -CO NRY.C6H4SO2-NH.CO.NH.NR3R4B where R = H or alkyl; R' and R" H, hal, alkyl or aryl, aralkyl or cycloalkyl optionally substd. with Hal, alkyl alkoxy or CF3; R3 and R4 = opt. substd. alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl; Y = a bond or C1-8-alkyl; and in the case of pyrazolyl compds., to the N-1 atom is attached H, alkyl, or aryl or aralkyl opt. substd. with Hal, alkyl, alkoxy or CF3 and n = 1-4. |
