A self-adhesive woven elastic fabric suitable for use as a pressure bandage comprises fabric having applied to at least one face an adhesive substance which will stick to another deposit of the same adhesive substance but does not stick to human skin or clothing fabrics, the adhesive substance being in spaced apart portions on the raised parts of the threads of the fabric where these cross other threads and the interstices of the fabric between the warp and weft threads remaining unobstructed by the adhesive. The adhesive may be applied to the raised parts of the weft threads where these cross the warp threads and may comprise 100 parts by weight of dry rubber latex, one part by weight of potassium salt of oleic acid, two parts by weight of 2.2 methylene bis (4-ethyl-6-tert.-butyl phenol), 0,05 parts by weight of emulsified silicone oil and hydrocarbons and 0,5 parts by weight of sodium polyacrylate. The dry fabric itself may constitute 85-95% of the total weight and the adhesive substance may constitute 15-5% of the total weight. The adhesive substance may be applied to both faces. The fabric may be composed of cotton and rubber or similar elastic warp threads in a ratio of three cotton to one elastic, woven with cotton weft thread. |
