The reaction with the 2-5C prim. amine, e.g. iso- or n-propyl-amine, 1;3-diaminopropane, etc., is effected at 40-200 degrees C, pref. 80-170 degrees C, in the presence, as diluent, of a hydrocarbon, chlorohydrocarbon or prim. amine, pref. at press > atmos. Subsequent reaction with a base, e.g. NaOH, liberates some of the amine which may then be recycled. Prods. have improved foam stability of prods. obtd. by reacting the sulphonated cpds. with sec. or tert. amines. |
