<p>1384768 Hair bleaching composition PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 29 March 1972 [30 March 1971 (2)] 14774/72 Heading C3H [Also in Division D1] A bleaching composition for hair comprises the following components, one of which (component 2), may be packaged separately prior to use: (1) from 0À1 to 20% by weight of arginine, a protamine protein or polypeptide containing a major proportion (#50%) of arginine units in its structure, or a peroxide compatible salt thereof, (2) from 1 to 10% of a water-soluble per compound, exclusive of the compounds in (3) below, (3) from 1 to 10% of a water-soluble hair bleaching accelerator selected from alkali metal and ammonium peroxydisulphates, alkali metal and ammonium peroxydiphosphates, and mixtures thereof, and (4) an inert diluent. The protein may be clupein, fontinin, salmin, iridin, lacustrin, gallin, sturin, sperm nucleoprotein or macerated bovine testes. Aqueous solutions of the compositions have pH's in the range 8-11 and peroxide-stable, e.g. phosphate buffers may be added to maintain this pH range.</p> |
