<p>The flow meter consists of a cylindrical housing of acid-resisting plastics material with a longitudinal centre bore. Centred at the mouth of each end opening are bearing blocks supported by radial fins attached to the inner face of the tube. The sealed bearings hold the spindle ends of a plastic impeller positioned between them. The impeller has two diametrically opposed, ferromagnetic plates embedded in its outer edge. A magnetic pick-up head is laterally mounted in the wall of the housing and is aligned with the impeller magnets so that a pulse output is obtained when each magnet passes the probe.</p> |
