Pressure vessel for pneumatic conveyance - stores and discharges granular materials by feeding air through overlapping base plates

The pneumatic conveyor has a vertical cylindrical container holding powder. A low pressure stratiform air flow is applied to loosen the lower-most contents. With closure of the air outlet valve a pressure build-up outflows along a central outlet pipe, entraining the powder. The container bottom (5) is lined with ringed overlapping plates (10) separated by gaps (16). A nose (20) and flare (19) lead into the outlet pipe (18). Air applied at inlet (15) and through pipe (14) enters the annular gallery (12), reaching the lower contents through the inter-plate gaps. The outlet pipe flare adjusts vertically and closes on to the nose.
