Self-loading container lorry - has inclined load platform and single flat ram to slide and raise container

The rear of the self-loading container lorry is fitted with a tipping load platform (2) which is raised by a single ram (4) at the front end of the platform. A second longer ram is fitted inside the platform to operate a slider (5) secured to the front of the container, to move the container up and down the incline. A pivoted lever (9) is linked on the slider and is attached to the front of the container by a hook and loop coupling. As the slider reaches the end of the platform, cams under the slider engage stops to tilt the lever and lift the end of the container off the platform and securely onto the ground. The platform does not require any steep inclination and the sliding and lifting action is controlled by a single ram.
