<p>Rotary drum mixer, esp. mobile mixer has system for filling, mixing and emptying consisting of a single spiral element. In the mixing region this has approximately the inclination normally associated with such mixers. In the inlet and outlet conical section, it has a smaller inclination but a greater effective height. In approx. 2/3 of this length, commencing from the drum inlet, the element has a pronounced concave section, and in the area near the lower end of the inlet hopper it is very markedly concave to such an extent that it forms an extension of the hopper. In the mixing region it has a height of about 200 mm. To improve the mixing other baffles can be inserted in this area. To speed up discharge, a short section of a second spiral of 180 degrees to the first can be used near the drum opening. For use with large mobile mixers to improve the utilisation of such mixers, i.e. speed up the emptying operation and improve the mixing time. This is achieved by the concave element which discharges the mixer very much faster and thus reduces turnround time at point of delivery.</p> |
