Oil fired domestic heating boiler - has heat resisting glass plates in combustion chamber to increase efficiency

The boiler has a rectangular combustion chamber with an oil burner (11) in one wall and four vertical sheets (13) of heat resisting glass inside it. Two of them extend in a V shape from the back corners with the apex of the V near the centre of the chamber. The other two extend from the front corners towards the centre but are shorter and do not meet. A horizontal sheet (14) of glass lies on top of the vertical sheets leaving gaps (16) between three of its edges and the sides of the combustion chamber. Radiant heat passes through the glass while convective heat is stored in it between burner on and off periods with a consequent improvement in efficiency.
