Pulse generator compensates timing mechanism faults - using shift register counter decoder and logic to assess reference deviations

The pulse generator provides a means of compensating for production tolerances and errors in mechanically driven timing mechanisms. The actual-value pulse sequence from the timing mechanism that deviates by the largest amount is used as a reference for clocking a shift register. The shift register outputs carry the quotient of the actual deviation and the highest permissible reference deviation in the mechanism pulses. The outputs of the register are coupled to the inputs of AND-gates whose second inputs are controlled by the counted pulses from the mechanism and whose outputs are combined at an OR-gate.
