The mine heading support materials supply system operates by means of transport units which are stocked at an intermediate point at the end of the supplies road before transporting them for use. Before the materials are withdrawn from their intermediate stocking point, the point (26) itself is advanced in the direction of the road way so that the material can be removed from this advanced location for use in the freshly driven heading. The material should be drawn forward by advancing the stocking point whose distance behind the heading is maintained constant throughout the drivage period. The stocking point should consist of a train of containers and/or pallets and/or platform cars on rails (20) which run back to the delivery end and comprise several yoked rail-sets (21), these being removable singly or in groups at the start of the track and capable of insertion at the forward end as required with the advance of heading.
