<p>A riding saddle consists of a hard plastics seat portion (1) attached by two front straps and two rear straps (2) astride the back of the horse, to a resilient pad (4) each side of the horse, shaped to match the flanks of the horse and secured to a girth strap (6) by a forked strap arrangement (7) for each pad. Each pad consists of a hard plastics core with a resilient plastics outer layer, and can be exchanged for a different sized pad. The front and rear straps (2) are detachable, and can be made sufficiently flexible to act as shock absorbers, and can be secured to the pads by swivel links.</p> |
