PURPOSE:To obtain preferable uniformity and color density by incorporating a dye material layer containing specific azo dye on a base film. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer sheet having a dye material layer containing azo dye represented by a formula I on a base film is provided. In the formula I, R is hydrogen atom, substituted or nonsubstituted alkyl group, cycloalkyl group, aryl group or allyl group, A is a benzene ring which may contain nitro group, cyano group, carboxyl group, halogen atom, substituted or nonsubstituted alkyl group, allyl group, alkoxy group, allyloxy group, alkoxycarbonyl group, acyl group, acylamino group, alkylsulfonyl group, allylsulfonic group, aminosulfonyl group, aminocarbonyl group, alkylaminosulfonic group or alkylaminocarbonyl group. The azo dye has fresh magenta color to be easily sublimed, and to be stable for heat, light moisture, chemicals. Accordingly, a record having excellent light resistance, uniformity and color density can be obtained. |
