Each assembly has a pair of longitudinal side frames which are supported by transverse rails 6, 7 on guides 8 of a base member. The rails are laterally movable by piston and cylinder units 16, Fig. 4, in a sense to uncouple hooks 10 of the rails from the guides, thereby to allow removal of the unit from the base member. The unit 16 may be spring biased in one sense, and operated hydraulically or pneumatically in the opposite sense. Each roll of an assembly may have an individual driving motor at its end, or a single motor may be provided for each assembly. In the latter case, the motor is automatically disconnected from a distribution gear when the assembly is shifted laterally during removal of the assembly.</p> |
