PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rise in intake temperature by effectively cooling a generator housed in the engine room of an outboard motor. SOLUTION: This outboard motor longitudinally houses an engine E in an engine room 36 covered by an engine cover 4 and a generator 62 on the front upper part of the crank case 7 of the engine E and in a position facing an opening 101 made in the front part of belt covers 10, 11. Air flowing from an air taking port 41 made in the rear upper part of the engine cover 4 to the in take port 791 of an intake silencer 76 provided on the front lower part of the engine room 36 cools the generator 62 disposed in the flow. Part of air in the engine room 36 is introduced from the opening 101 into the belt covers 10, 11 and is discharged out from a ventilation port 751 and air passing through the opening 101 cools the generator 62. |
