发明名称 LEAD STROAGE BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To enable a sufficient charging of a lead storage battery to be performed after the battery is left to stand after either discharging or resistance connection by forming a shallow and a deep electric-discharge condition in each positive plate. CONSTITUTION:Cold rolled plates made of an Sb-free alloy, after being punched into a grid-like form, are combined with positive and negative plates. Two sections of separators 4 and eight sections of separators 4 are located on the surfaces of each positive plate 3, and assembly is performed at a given pressure before formation is carried out in a battery jar under a given condition, thereby constituting a battery. Thus, by varying the quantities of electrolyte distributed in the battery by varying the numbers of separators 4 stacked on the surfaces of the positive plate 3, a shallow electric discharge is developed in parts containing a small quantity of the electrolyte thereby delaying the time at which these parts are inactivated, and a part of the positive electrode 3 remains in a shallow electric-discharge condition at the end of electric discharge. Owing to such constitution, when the battery is charged at a constant voltage after it is left to stand, charging is performed between the negative electrodes by using the parts (shallow electric discahrge parts) which are not inactivated as the rising points of the positive electrodes. Besides PbO2, a charging product, is a good conductor and activates even the inactivated parts in order.
