<p>PURPOSE:To shorten remarkably the time required extending from search to catch and tracking, by fixing a beam in the direction of a target detected by scanning a fan beam, and tracking the target by a pencil beam. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with a mode signal from a controller 1, a transmitter 2 generates a pulse-like transmitting signal, and sends it to a phased array antenna 4 through a transmission and reception switch 3. The transmitting signal is radiated to a wide space by a fan beam from the phased array antenna 4, and when a target exists in the fan beam, said signal is reflected and is received by the phased array antenna 4. It is made to pass through the transmission and reception switch 3, is inputted to a receiver 5, and amplified and mixed, then is inputted to a signal processor 6 as a digitally converted video signal. The signal processor 6 detects a target signal from a thermal noise generated by the receiver 5, and a clutter received simultaneously with the target signal by being reflected from the ground, etc.</p> |
