PURPOSE:To attain recording and reproduction without losing a picture reproducing function even with intermittent video recording by compressing the band of a video signal for a still picture or slow picture of a high density TV while keeping the same vertical synchronizing frequency as a conventional VTR on market for recording and reproducing the signal. CONSTITUTION:When a sub-memory 8A writes an input digital video in high speed, a digital video is read out by a frequency being 1/n of a clock at write from a sub-memory 8B written in high speed beforehand at the preceding synchronizing signal. Further, the signal is converted into an analog signal by a D/A converter 11 via a selector 10 and outputted from an amplifier 12. While the high speed write and low speed readout are controlled by selectors 9, 17, the frame vertical synchronizing signal is counted by a frame counter 14, applied to a sampling gate circuit 16 and outputted to a VTR6 together with the horizontal and vertical synchronizing signal converted into a serial frame number data at a serial converting circuit 15. |
