Process and arrangement for de-icing the windows and preheating motor cars

In the passenger-compartment heater, a heat-storing medium (23) with heat exchanger (22) is arranged. The heat-storing medium used is calcium chloride hydrate. Liquid flows through the heat exchanger from top to bottom when the vehicle is in motion. By this means the salt melts from top to bottom. In this process, the salt can expand freely. For de-icing the windows and preheating the motor car, the liquid is circulated, via a pump (14), between the reservoir (20) and the passenger-compartment heater (5).
