A rotor (4) of an eccentric screw pump (1) customarily has, at an end projecting out of the stator (3) of the eccentric screw pump (1), a coupling part (5, 6) with a recess (5, 6), into which another coupling part, constructed on a driveshaft as counterpart thereto, is to be inserted. On the said projecting end, the rotor (4) has the same outer configuration as over its remaining length, and the other end, located in the stator (3), has the same coupling part, consisting of the recess (5'), as the first end. The eccentric screw pump (1), which is subject to non-uniform wear over its length, i.e. to less wear in the inlet-side region and to more wear in the discharge-side region, can be turned around with the new rotor (4) after a certain time. In this case, the rotor (4) need only be displaced in the stator (3) in such a way that its previously projecting end comes into the stator (3) and the end previously located in the stator (3) now projects. <IMAGE>
