PURPOSE:To prevent the pressure of a hydraulic oil from being abnormally raised when continuing a steering condition, by a method wherein when the quantity of electric power supplied to an electric motor is not less than a predetermined value, the quantity is forcibly reduced to or below the predetermined value by a signal outputted from an overload-detecting means. CONSTITUTION:When the quantity of an electric current supplied to a motor 18 exceeds a predetermined value, an output signal from the detecting element 23d of a detector 23 becomes ''L''. The signal is inverted, and is inputted into an S- terminal of a flip-flop 41, and a Q-terminal becomes ''H''. A transistor 40 is turned ON, a transistor 35a of a steering timer 35 is grounded, and an output from a comparator 35c is forcibly made to be ''L''. Therefore, a pulse signal Ps based on the vehicle speed supplied to a power transistor 30 of a supply power quantity regulator 19 through an AND circuit 31 is cut off. Accordingly, only a signal PI from an idle signal generating circuit 38 is supplied to the power transistor 30, a small quantity of an electric current is supplied to the motor 18, so that the motor 18 is set into an idling operation, and overloading is prevented. |
