Thermoformable orthesis for the metacarpo-phalangeal articulation of the thumb

Device for preventing ligament traumas of the metacarpo-phalangeal articulation of the thumb and for allowing an early resumption of sports or manual activity. It consists of a strip of thermoformable trans-polyisoprene which surrounds and secures the metacarpo-phalangeal articulation of the thumb (1), (2). Once stiffened, the orthesis is fastened to the hand by means of an adhesive elastic retention bandage. The device according to the invention is intended for the articular traumas associated with sports or manual activities which are subject to this type of trauma. <IMAGE>
