PURPOSE:To realize the small sized and inexpensive recorder by providing an image sensor reading an original to a paper discharge carrier section at the upper part and using at least part of a paper discharge carrier path of a printer and a carrier member in common for the carrying of the original. CONSTITUTION:When the user of a personal computer discharges recording paper S while a printed face is directed upward, a tray 18 used normally as a cover of a printer 1 is opened. The recording paper S passing through paper discharge rollers 14, 14' is carried in a straight line by a flapper 15 and discharged and stacked onto the tray 18. When the original is read, the tray 18 is opened and an original tray 20 is moved and when an original G is placed on the original tray 20, the original G slides down along the original tray 20 and its tip strikes on a nip of the original carrier rollers 21, 21' and stops thereat. When the read start is commanded, the original carrier rollers 21, 21' and paper discharge rollers 17, 17' start rotation and the original G is discharged and the original is read by an image sensor 23. |
