Date Aug. 9, 1990.A low air loss bed has a microprocessor for simultaneously controlling the supply and exhaust valves of individual bed sections. Air is supplied from a blower to a valve assembly which comprises an inlet valve and an exhaust valve. The inlet valve is linked to the exhaust valve so that opening of the inlet valve is automatically accompanied by a corresponding degree of closure of the exhaust valve, and vice-versa.
