PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery having a high capacity and excellent cyclic characteristic by having both LiMn2 O4 and LiMn(2-a) Xa O4 (a compound in which a part of Mn2 is replaced with some other atom) included in the positive pole substance of a battery having an electrolytic layer including a positive pole, and non-aqueous electrolyte and a negative pole capable of storing/releasing lithium. SOLUTION: When LiMn(2-a) Xa O4 (where X stands for one kind among group IIA to VIIA, VIII, IB to VB and 0<a<=1) with capacity inferior to LiMn2 O4 but has good cycle characteristic is mixed in LiMn2 O4 having high capacity but a poor cycle characteristic as a positive active material, a battery excellent in its cycle characteristic can be obtained without drop in its capacity. X is at least one kind of element selected out of such elements V, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Cn, Zn, B, P and Mg as having its atomic diameter close to that of Mn and exerting no large strain to a spinal structure. The mixture ratio between LiMn2 O4 and LiMn(2-a) Xa O4 is set in such a way that LiMn(2-a) Xa O4 is preferably 20 to 80weight%. |
