PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THROMBIN

A process for producing thrombin by treating an aqueous solution of prothrombin with a calcium salt at 0 to 15 DEG C, wherein prothrombin can be efficiently converted into thrombin even in the absence of thromboplastin and plasma and the starting material for this conversion is readily available, and whereby thrombin can be produced and purified on an industrial scale.
