The invention concerns a portable case (20) for use by a person working in the restaurant or hotel trade such as a waiter for storing therein a bottle opener or the like and comprising hooking means for hooking on the case (20) on a clothing item of the waiter, and a U-shaped blocking element (28) the base of which is at the bottom of the case and having two flexible branches (30, 32) with a span less than the width of the bottle opener so as to act like a spring for retaining the opener when it has been placed in the case after use, the blocking mechanism capable of being reinforced by a magnet (34) fixed at the bottom of the case.
