PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing the lower end parts of electrode units from spreading at the time when the electrode units are inserted into a square electrolytic bath in manufacture of a closed type square battery. SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a sealed square battery carried out by inserting electrode units produced by layering positive electrode sheets 1, separators 3, and negative electrode sheets 2 into a square electrolytic bath B having an opened upper side while pinching the electrode units in the thickness direction, pouring an electrolytic solution to the bath, and sealing the open part B1 of the square electrolytic bath B, a part of the lower end faces a1 of the electrode unit and a part of the surface of two negative electrode sheets 2, 2 positioned in the outermost side are stuck to an adhesive tape 7 and covered and then the electrode units are inserted into the square electrolytic bath. Consequently, welding of the square electrolytic bath B and the sealing body C can be reliably carried out and occurrence of liquid leakage of a manufactured battery is extremely scarce. |
