PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor in which the capacity for a line memory is reduced, the power consumption is decreased and the reduction magnification is reduced. SOLUTION: Each of line memories 6-15 has a capacity of 20% of picture element number by one line of each image. For example, in the case of 45% reduction, 4 lines are referenced as maximum to reduce the image. Since the image reduced in the line direction is received as an input image signal 1, image signals by 3 lines are stored in line memories 6-8, 9-11, 12-14 by one line each. The image by 3 lines is stored by the capacity by 2 lines. A density calculation section 5 uses only the input image signal 1 and outputs of the line memories 8, 11, 14 to calculate the density by the projection method. A line memory operation control section 17 controls the combination of the line memory in use based on a magnification 4 or the like. |
