PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording apparatus equipped with a non- discharge sensing means capable of being sufficiently adapted even in such a case that the interval between an ink jet head and a recording medium is extremely small. SOLUTION: An ink jet printer wherein an ink droplet is emitted from a nozzle orifice 13a formed in the tip of an ink jet head is loaded with a non- discharge sensing means 20 consisting of a pair of electrodes 21b provided on the front side of the ink discharge direction of the nozzle orifice 13a of the ink jet head and opposed to each other so as to hole the nozzle orifice 13a therebetween and an electrostatic capacity sensing circuit 22 sensing the change of electrostatic capacity between the electrodes 21b to sense the non- discharge of an ink droplet. |
