In a four-cycle single-cylinder engine in which a crankshaft is rotatably borne on a crankcase through a pair of bearings and in which a wrapping driving wheel for transmitting the rotational power of the crankshaft to a camshaft of a valve-operating device and a driving gear for transmitting the rotational power of the crankshaft to an oil pump are firmly attached to the crankshaft, the driving gear (127) is disposed on the outer side of one (48) of both the bearings (47, 48), and the wrapping driving wheel (78) is disposed on the further outer side of the driving gear (127).
